Intro
If by any chance you happened to have a lot of cherries (no LOL plz - once or twice, I happened to have a lot of cherries!)...so if you are tired to eat your fresh or frozen cherries (again, plz, no LOL) - make this shake - it's absolutely no-guilt, delicious treat you will definitely enjoy.
I get the recipe from "50 Shades of Kale" thus continuing series of recipes from this book. I needed to fix the recipe a bit (it obviously lacked some liquid) and here it is - dessert / snack / little something for a that hot summer day...

What is it?
No more than cherries, some sugar, cocoa powder, kale and icy water!
Taste Description
The shake is pretty thick but not heavy at all. Because it's sweetened with a just right amount of sugar, you won't be in a "sweet coma" after third or fourth sip. Perfect proportions of all ingredients create very balanced drink. Don't be concerned with a kale taste popping through - you won't even notice it's there. Just experienced tester will notice light grassy notes somewhere on a background. This shake is all about cherry and chocolate (cocoa powder makes up for all that chocolaty taste). Kale is just invisible healthy addition which adds more texture than taste per cue.

Cherry Kale Shake
(Fifty Shades of Kale cookbook)
For 2 servings:
- 2 cups roughly chopped kale (remove stalks)
- 2 cups frozen pitted black cherries
- 4 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 tbs sugar
- 3/4 + cup cold drinking water
- Blend until smooth. Sprinkle with a drop or two cocoa powder and serve. Enjoy!
Note
- I assume water can be substituted with milk, but I did try it. Using water, shake has taste of a dark chocolate. I think, with milk, it will be more mellow chocolate taste there, milk chocolate.
