Viola the Winter Surviver

Wake up people, it's a spring again! I was so surprised when I found out that little viola flower survived our Ohio winter this year. Of course we had the mild one but anyway I didn't expect to see anyting alive on my deck right now. Here is this little hero. Nice to see you!

As soon as voila is edible and can be used for food decoration, I probably will give it some room in my garden this year again. And of course this flower is just so plain beautiful that it deserves some effort from me to be brought back.
